The Hermetic Laws are not carved in stone;

reshaped, simplified, or rebranded,
but the pulse behind them remains one
rhythm, sevenfold in nature.

The Kybalion, written by the Three Initiates
(generally attributed to William Walker Atkinson),
is the foundation everyone riffs on.
It lists seven Hermetic Principles:
Mentalism, Correspondence,
Vibration, Polarity, Rhythm,
Cause and Effect, and Gender.
Everything after that is simply
a remix of this score.

Some later occult and esoteric systems condensed the canon, either to fit new cosmologies or for aesthetic balance.
Dion Fortune’s The Cosmic Doctrine (1923) often merges Polarity and Rhythm into one law of periodic motion.
Certain Rosicrucian AMORC manuals (mid-20th century) teach six operational laws, blending Cause and Effect with Vibration under “Universal Motion.”

Countless social-media occult accounts now teach “Six Universal Laws” simply because seven slides don’t fit neatly in a carousel.
